Achyut is a dedicated math educator with over 20 years of experience helping students build confidence, mastery, and independence in mathematics. He graduated cum laude from Duke University and holds a Master’s degree in Math Adolescent Education from Hunter College (CUNY). Achyut taught math in the classroom for over 10 years, most recently at Trinity School in Manhattan, where he taught Upper School math. Since 2014, he has focused on private tutoring, working one-on-one with students across a wide range of levels. His teaching style is personable, patient, and straightforward with a knack for meeting students where they are. He is able to demystify even the most challenging topics in the high school math curriculum and teach them in a way that makes sense to the average student. He excels at building strong connections with students and adapting his approach to each learner’s needs.

Allison attended The Brearley School from kindergarten through twelfth grade before graduating cum laude from Barnard College with a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior and a minor in Science, Ethics, and Policy. She is currently pursuing her M.D. at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. As a lifelong New Yorker, Allison understands both the excitement and the pressures of growing up and attending school in the city. She hopes to provide students with the same thoughtful mentorship that shaped her own educational journey by helping them build confidence, master challenging material, and foster curiosity. Outside the classroom, Allison is an avid foodie who loves exploring New York’s restaurant scene and playing volleyball.

Anabel is an application essay specialist who has worked with students at the high school, college, and graduate levels (she also loves coaching medical residency narratives!). Drawing on her background as both a writer and educator, Anabel supports students through every stage of the process, from brainstorming to revision, with a blend of practical expertise, humor, and empathy. Anabel received her BA from Vassar College and her MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University. She is the winner of the Prada Feltrinelli Prize and The Fiction Desk’s Ghost Story Competition. Her work has appeared in Day One, Prada Journal, Joyland, Joyland Retro, The Chicago Tribune’s Printer’s Row, Story|Houston, The Fiction Desk, and The Southampton Review. She is an intuitive listener, an outside-the-box brainstormer, and an enthusiastic editor who is equal parts taskmaster and cheerleader.

Andrew is a writer and tutor based in New York. A graduate of Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and a mentee of media icons Victor Navasky and Gay Talese, he has written for the USA Today, The Atlantic Magazine and others. His first short film, “Idee Fixe” screened at Cannes and at the Time Inc. Theater in New York City in 2016. He is an honor’s graduate from Trinity College in History with a concentration in World War 2. Under the mentorship of much heralded Holocaust Historian Samuel Kassow, he embarked on a study of the formative role of propaganda in shaping both Allied and Axis forces with his research culminating in time spent working in the esteemed FASPE program at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. Andrew remains a voracious reader of biographies, memoirs and a devotee of historiography and sustains his passion further by tutoring young high school minds who are themselves grappling with AP World History, AP European History and AP U.S. History.

Ari has 15 years of experience as an academic support and test prep tutor with students ranging from elementary school through college and beyond. He specializes in all levels of math, statistics, computer science, and data analytics, helping students grasp difficult concepts by breaking them down into more easily digestible pieces. A graduate of Brown University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Music, Ari worked as a data scientist, mathematician, and statistician at a research lab at Princeton University. He’s patient and encouraging, and adjusts his approach based on how each student learns best.

Ashley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University with distinction in her two majors, Italian & International Studies. She grew up in New York City and attended Convent of the Sacred Heart School for 13 years, graduating as the Salutatorian. Ashley is fluent in five languages and has studied all the languages that she speaks in their native countries. She blends left and right brain techniques to craft a different approach that is tailored to the needs of each student. She loves watching her students surprise themselves and do better than they thought they could.

Chloe is a New York City–based school counselor and educator who works closely with students as they navigate both the academic and social-emotional parts of school. She has experience working with students across elementary, middle, and high school, with a strong focus on executive functioning, organization, and helping students build habits that actually stick. Her work is centered around helping students understand how they learn best while building the confidence and skills they need to manage stress and stay on top of their work. Alongside her counseling work, Chloe also supports students with ISEE and SSAT prep, as well as general academic tutoring, always taking an individualized approach. Chloe holds a Master’s in School Counseling from Hunter College and a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Vermont, where she also minored in Spanish. She currently works as a high school counselor in New York City, supporting 9th and 10th grade students through the transition into high school. Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, exploring the city, spending time with her cats, and getting out of NYC whenever she can.

Daniel is a tutor who specializes in college test prep. Daniel found his passion for working with high schoolers as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo, West Africa, where he taught 11th grade English as a second language. You can find Daniel on social media @satpreptutor, where he has a following of 270k+ across platforms. Daniel loves to work with motivated students who are ready to get their dream scores!

David is a full-time LSAT specialist who has been helping students achieve their best for over 20 years. He is the author of multiple books about test preparation and the creator of an advanced online platform for LSAT students. David uses a researched approach to the test material and effective learning methods, and he continuously refines his processes to maximize student outcomes. He has a degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University and a master’s from UC Davis. Today he lives outside Philadelphia with his wife and two daughters.

Edward is an experienced LSAT tutor with hundreds of one-on-one tutoring hours. He believes LSAT success comes from tailored support that builds on each student’s strengths, and his philosophy is straightforward: once a student understands the how and why behind their thinking, they can improve. His sessions focus on making student thinking visible and the process repeatable, so no two sessions look alike. Edward scored a 177 on the LSAT and earned his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. After graduating, he practiced corporate law at Kirkland & Ellis before his love of teaching led him to education, and he went on to earn a Master’s in 7-12 Math Education. He has nearly six years of high school teaching experience alongside his tutoring work, and has helped students score as high as a 178 on the LSAT.

Elizabeth holds a BA in English Literature from Bryn Mawr College, an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and a PhD in History from Boston University. In Boston, she taught in the Boston University Department of History and at the Pardee School. She also ran a series of writing workshops for humanities graduate students at BU.

Grace is a Brooklyn-based educator for academic and arts-based learning. She first developed her passion for teaching at the age of 14, working as a dance instructor. Her work in education expanded continuously through her time at Tufts University, and she now has over 10 years experience in individualized, tailored instruction. Grace works closely with both students and parents, and pushes her students to do more than they think they can. Her former work with the Metropolitan Opera Guild strengthened her commitment to creative problem solving and critical thinking throughout all of her educational practice. She has taught hundreds of students in math, language, reading comprehension, SAT/ACT, and a myriad of other standardized tests.

Dr. Gustavo is a college professor of chemistry with over 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring students at the high-school, college, and graduate levels. He holds a PhD in chemistry and has published extensively in scientific research, but his true passion is helping students build confidence, clarity, and strong problem-solving skills. As a tutor, he focuses on clear explanations, step-by-step reasoning, and helping students truly understand the material rather than memorize it. He’s patient and encouraging, and adjusts each session to where the student is and where they’re trying to go.

Hannah began tutoring her peers as a sophomore at The McDonogh School in Maryland and returned to teaching during her senior year at Columbia University, where she earned a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature. For more than 15 years, she has built a career around helping students navigate whatever academic challenge is in front of them. Her work has included private tutoring, admissions and college application consulting, essay and creative writing coaching, scholastic publishing, standardized test preparation and content development, curriculum design, bilingual classroom instruction, and accommodations advocacy for students with learning differences and physical disabilities. She has worked with more than 2,300 students across the U.S. and internationally. Hannah thrives on working with students of different ages, abilities, personalities, and goals, particularly those who don’t fit neatly into conventional boxes. She believes effective teaching begins with curiosity and connection: students are people first and pupils second. Her sessions are rigorous, dynamic, and individualized, combining academic skill-building with the organization, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and confidence students need to become increasingly independent learners. Hannah doesn’t teach kids how to perform on tests; she teaches them how to show up for themselves. She believes genuine academic growth extends far beyond grades and scores, and brings energy, humor, and “silliness with a purpose” to every session while maintaining high expectations. Outside of teaching, Hannah plays competitive pool, is a diehard NFL fan, collects rare books and antique maps, is learning Russian, and spends quality time indulging her Catahoula Leopard Dog, Finn.

Hany holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and has years of experience as both an engineer and educator. He has worked with students across a wide range of subjects, including GMAT, ACT, SAT, SSAT/ISEE, and GRE test prep, as well as mathematics through calculus and differential equations, chemistry, and physics. After several years away from tutoring to build and manage his own herbal supplement company, Hany returned with a broader perspective on communication and learning. Effective tutoring begins with understanding the student, not just the subject, and that perspective shapes his approach to tutoring. Hany has returned to full-time tutoring with renewed energy and enthusiasm. His goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but to help them build confidence, think clearly, and develop lasting understanding.

Before becoming a New York–based playwright and theatre maker, Helen earned a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Cambridge and taught the social and political history of late antiquity as an adjunct professor at the University of London. She later earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch and completed graduate certifications in Opera Directing and Applied Shakespeare. As the parent of three children now approaching college, Helen understands firsthand the opportunities and pressures families encounter throughout their children’s education. She brings her background in teaching, writing, and creative practice to ISEE tutoring, helping students build skills and confidence through learning that is thoughtful, individualized, and engaging.

Helene is a New York–based learning specialist with more than 10 years of experience in education, focusing on executive functioning and academic support through the lens of educational therapy. Her practice combines individualized academic support with explicit instruction in planning, organization, time management, task initiation, study strategies, and metacognition. Her approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and grounded in helping students better understand themselves as learners. She works closely with students to identify the barriers underlying academic difficulties and develop practical strategies that translate to greater confidence and success in school. Helene also partners with families, schools, and other support professionals to create a cohesive approach to each student’s learning and development. Her goal is to help students become increasingly independent, self-aware learners who can advocate for themselves and manage the demands of rigorous academic environments.

Jackie is a Master Teacher and Private Tutor with over 15 years experience working with both primary and early childhood students, including those applying to pre-k, enrolled in pre-k, applying for kindergarten and already in kindergarten. A native New Yorker, Jackie is a graduate of the Horace Mann School, and holds degrees from Vassar College and Teachers College, Columbia University. Jackie also spent time studying in Reggio-Emilia and is trained in Learning without Tears, Orton-Gillingham, Sounds in Motion and Singapore Math. Jackie has helped prepare children for top schools across Manhattan. Using both familiar and unfamiliar “games,” Jackie makes learning necessary skills fun for her students.

Jacquie is a New York City–based educator and professional actress specializing in SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and math instruction. She graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2020 and earned her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in 2024.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Jacquie believes the best learning happens when students feel seen, heard, and challenged. She takes the time to get to know each student, incorporating their interests into lessons that are engaging, creative, and personalized while maintaining high expectations. Drawing from her acting background, she brings energy and enthusiasm into every session. Her favorite part of teaching is watching students surprise themselves with what they can achieve.

Jake started tutoring as an undergraduate at Princeton, and taught hundreds of students over the next decade, covering subjects ranging from middle school algebra to graduate school statistical modeling. Later, he adapted his approach from the classroom to the boardroom at McKinsey and Google, where he continued to be passionate about encouraging rapid growth in understanding new domains. Whether tutoring fifth graders or CxOs, he encourages students to master the aspects of a field important for direct assessments and develop a holistic understanding of the whole subject. He emphasizes building confidence, excitement, and an appreciation for the real-world significance of even the driest-seeming material. He lives in Manhattan with his amazing wife and two daughters.

Jake is a learning specialist with more than 15 years of experience serving the learning and developmental needs of students of all ages, with a specialty in upper middle school and high school. His New York-based private practice combines his extensive teaching and tutoring experience with an understanding of current advances in educational research and training. At its heart, his practice combines high-level literacy instruction with executive functioning coaching. Jake is a graduate of the Bank Street College of Education, with a dual Master of Science in general and special education. His areas of expertise include reading comprehension, writing, executive functioning, and diverse content-area remediation. His undergraduate background in history imbues his practice with a wide-ranging knowledge of culture, literature, art, and politics. He is comfortable forming learning teams and regularly engages with schools, therapists, and other specialists who may also be working with his students. While retaining a holistic approach centered on student strengths, Jake is also results-oriented and focused on student success at school and beyond. His ultimate goal is facilitating his students’ independence and the full realization of their abilities, using his up-to-date understanding of executive functioning as a foundation for helping his students maximize their strengths.

Jason is a test preparation expert whose career grew out of a personal recognition that his strengths lay in teaching, analytical thinking, and academic strategy. After earning a degree in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Jason pivoted toward test preparation, where his ability to break down complex ideas and communicate them clearly proved to be a natural fit. In his five years at Bell Curves, he helped students across a wide range of abilities achieve consistent and meaningful score improvements. In 2012, Jason relocated to Beijing where he worked with the highest achieving students in China, with all of his students going on to gain admission at top 20 US universities and colleges.

Jonathan is a neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist in New York City. He graduated with a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Neural Science from NYU’s College of Arts and Science, and an Accelerated 3-Year MD from NYU’s School of Medicine. He views science and math as sophisticated languages for distilling the simple from the complex, and loves sharing his excitement for these fields. He believes that the successful academic path is paved by placing the focus on understanding, not memorization, and removing any obstacles that impede the measurement of understanding. As a yoga teacher, Jonathan includes mindfulness practices in sessions to improve student resilience, outlook, and performance.

Joohun, M.D. is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a 99th percentile MCAT scorer, and former top MCAT instructor at The Princeton Review. He has been tutoring MCAT students for over 4 years, with students improving an average of 10.5 points from their initial diagnostic exams. He specializes in live AAMC passage breakdowns and simplifying the most difficult concepts.

Lincoln is a Brooklyn-based educator and artist with over ten years of experience in academic tutoring. Since graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University, Lincoln has worked with hundreds of students of all ages in subjects ranging from reading, writing, math, and history, to musical theater, songwriting, and guitar. His teaching approach centers on confidence-building, self-expression, and fostering student discovery and curiosity. He also serves as the Director of Tufts Creative Arts, an educational theater program emphasizing exploration, process, and collaboration in a fun, non-competitive environment. Lincoln collects hobbies voraciously and indiscriminately, including (but not limited to) crossword puzzles, reading, drawing, and making synthesizers go “WEEWOO!”

Lindsey began tutoring her junior year of college at William Paterson University in NJ in Algebra and Geometry. She has been working as a high school math teacher for over ten years and truly enjoys helping students acquire essential skills, build confidence and make connections. In her free time, Lindsey loves to work out at 5 AM and spend time with her three amazing children.

Lora has 20 years of experience in early childhood education, primarily at the 92nd Street Y Nursery School, and holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. She works with children from birth through second grade across all areas of development and learning. She views herself as a guide and partner, working alongside children to problem-solve and build understanding together. Her sessions are highly individualized, with a focus on the areas where each child needs the most support. Her hope is that children look forward to her visits and hardly realize how hard they are working.

Sage is a science educator and academic coach based in Darien, CT, with two decades of classroom experience helping students build confidence in STEM. She spent twenty years teaching Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, and AP Biology at Greenwich Academy, where she designed hands-on curricula and mentored students through independent research projects. She holds a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College, where she was a two-sport NCAA Division III athlete and team captain in soccer and squash.

Taylor has been helping students achieve their academic and admissions test goals for almost a decade. She has worked with families from an array of backgrounds, giving her experience working with students of diverse skill sets, learning styles, and goals. She believes any student can hit their goals when they get the right kind of support, and she likes figuring out what that looks like for each person. In addition to working with students herself, Taylor also has several years’ experience training other teachers and tutors in SAT and SHSAT test preparation and developing prep curriculum for a variety of K-12 admissions exams.

Tessa has over 20 years of experience helping students advance and excel academically through a blend of rigor, creativity, and emotional intelligence. She loves finding the unique path to inspire each student she works with. Though fluent in French after 11 years in a French-immersion school in San Francisco, Tessa started late as a second grader and had to work hard to catch up, an experience that gave her deep compassion for students who struggle with the fear of not knowing. She went on to become valedictorian of both her middle school and high school, earned her IB diploma, and graduated from UC Berkeley. Tessa specializes in helping adolescents develop their writing voice and craft compelling essays for high school, college, and graduate school admissions.

Thomas is an educator and software developer with over 15 years of teaching experience and 8 years writing code. He ranked in the top 1% on the AI community platform Kaggle and taught machine learning bootcamps before the current AI wave hit. Now considered an AI guru by top entrepreneurs, he helps non-technical creatives and business owners build real products and automations through his consulting practice and AI Mastermind communities. He’s the type of guy who has 8 AI agents running simultaneously across his 160+ coding projects while he sips tea. He burns through three $200/month AI plans on a weekly basis, and brings that depth of hands-on experience to every person he works with.

Will earned his B.A. in neuroscience with a concentration in comparative literature from Columbia University, where he held a Howard Hughes Summer Fellowship in the laboratory of Thomas Jessell at the Columbia University Medical Center, walked onto the football team as a place kicker, and founded the Columbia chapter of FACE AIDS. As a senior at Pelham Memorial High School, Will was a semi-finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search for Programming Yeast with Chemical Complementation, research he began in the Cornish Laboratory at Columbia and later co-authored in Molecular BioSystems. A longstanding interest in narrative also drew Will to Pixar Animation Studios, where his time alongside storytellers working on Coco convinced him that narrative is the missing partner to rigor, the bridge between knowing something and truly owning it. In thirteen years, Will has worked one-on-one with more than six hundred students and reached thousands more in classrooms across six continents, with particular depth among gifted and twice-exceptional learners and a longstanding commitment to first-generation applicants. Will’s approach is developmental and psychologically informed, rooted as much in cognitive learning science and neuroscience as in a soulful connection to what each student cares about most. He integrates executive function, coaching, wellness, and intellectual rigor, partnering closely with parents as an extension of each family’s values and goals and building the self-awareness and agency that allow each student to take genuine charge of their own learning. Will reaches students of all backgrounds through pro bono tutoring, advocacy for College Track, and his prior teaching of the ACT course at Valor Academy in Los Angeles. Away from work, Will writes spoken word, philosophy, and fiction, plays sports, hikes, and cooks. He is father to Atlas and Aurora and two fur babies, Gimli and Fiona.

Zoe is a current student at Yale University, studying Comparative Literature on the Literary Translation track. She graduated from the Horace Mann School in New York City with awards for overall academic achievement, English, and World Languages, having studied Spanish, Latin, and Ancient Greek. She is passionate about a wide range of subjects and loves coming up with new ways to help students understand a concept for the first time.
