Kate is the founder of KFT. Kate has worked with thousands of students since beginning her tutoring career as an undergraduate at NYU in 2008. A Horace Mann graduate, she holds a Professional Certificate in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity with a Specialization in Executive Function from the Landmark College Institute. Kate previously served as a top-grossing tutor and Director of School Partnerships at an elite NYC firm, and has developed curriculum for major test changes. She sits on the board of the National Test Prep Association and is a lifelong advocate for the Autism community. Kate cares deeply about raising standards in the field through transparent practices, thoughtful training, and collaboration among independent educators. Outside of work, she is a New Yorker raising two young daughters and is happiest with a long walk, a great meal, and a full calendar.

Ally has been tutoring privately since she was in eighth grade, when her mom would volunteer her services to her younger sister's friends. During college she decided to formalize this experience and began teaching SAT classes in the Raleigh-Durham area. After graduating in 2009, she continued to both teach classes and tutor privately for the SAT and a variety of other subjects and exams, including the ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, GRE, and LSAT. In 2012, she began serving as the Director of K-12 Programming at Bell Curves, where she facilitated programming and designed curricula aimed at bringing high-quality test prep to students in underserved communities throughout New York City. Ally has been with Kate Fisher Tutoring since its inception in 2023, and is excited to help the company continue to grow in her role as Director of Operations. She has worked with hundreds of students throughout her career and enjoys helping each one realize that they are capable of finding success, no matter how challenging it may feel. Ally is a cum laude graduate of Duke University (Go Blue Devils!) who currently resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Achyut is a dedicated math educator with over 20 years of experience helping students build confidence, mastery, and independence in mathematics. He graduated cum laude from Duke University and holds a Master’s degree in Math Adolescent Education from Hunter College (CUNY). Achyut taught math in the classroom for over 10 years, most recently at Trinity School in Manhattan, where he taught Upper School math. Since 2014, he has focused on private tutoring, working one-on-one with students across a wide range of levels. His teaching style is personable, patient, and straightforward with a knack for meeting students where they are. He is able to demystify even the most challenging topics in the high school math curriculum and teach them in a way that makes sense to the average student. Anabel is an application essay specialist who has worked with students at the high school, college, and graduate levels (she also loves coaching medical residency narratives!). Drawing on her background as both a writer and educator, Anabel supports students through every stage of the process, from brainstorming to revision, with a blend of practical expertise, humor, and empathy. Anabel received her BA from Vassar College and her MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University. She is the winner of the Prada Feltrinelli Prize and The Fiction Desk’s Ghost Story Competition. Chloe is a New York City–based school counselor and educator who works closely with students as they navigate both the academic and social-emotional parts of school. Her work is centered around helping students understand how they learn best while building the confidence and skills they need to manage stress and stay on top of their work.
