KFT Vocab is our vocabulary practice app for the ISEE, SSAT and SAT, built from the word lists and workbooks we use with our own students. A few words a day, practiced the way the test asks them.

Words are sorted into tiers. Tier 1 holds the must-know words, and higher tiers are tested less often. Students can study the whole list, one tier, or one unit at a time.

The home screen shows how many words are due today, plus up to 10 new ones. One button starts the review.
Flashcards and definition quizzes teach the meaning. Test-style questions then ask for it the way the real test will.
Every word is counted as New, Learning or Mastered, for the whole list or any unit, so students and parents can see what is left.
Cramming a list the night before works for the next day’s quiz. The words rarely last until the test. KFT Vocab uses spaced repetition instead, and brings each word back after longer and longer gaps.
That is what it takes for a word to count as mastered: four correct answers in a row, on different days. A miss sends the word back to the start, and repeating a quiz in one sitting does not move it forward. When the app says Mastered, the student has known that word for more than a week.
Unit 1 of every list: 10 words and 30 practice questions. It needs a free account with a name, email and password.
Per list, one-time. The whole list, with all of its units and practice questions. Paid by card on Stripe’s secure checkout, from inside the app.
Your tutor unlocks your list, so there is nothing to buy. Tutors can assign units as homework, and progress shows in the student portal.
KFT Vocab runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and progress follows the student from one device to the next. On an iPhone, iPad or Android phone it can be added to the home screen, where it opens with its own icon like any other app. The app shows the steps.
The units follow our vocabulary workbooks, so the app and the book can be used side by side. Our ISEE Vocabulary Workbooks are available in print.
